The money donated from the students and the local community will be donated to a global organization who has empowered more than 43 million people with access to safe water or sanitation. If you wish to donate, then you can make a check out to the Aurora City School District. With that global focus in mind, they came up with one subject that could connect all of their student’s subjects together, WATER. The student’s interdisciplinary study of water will take place on Wednesday, May25th in their English, Math, Social Studies and Science classes, and it will culminate with students experiencing first-hand the challenges and importance of clean drinking water by predicting how many times they can walk around the AHS track carrying 1-2 gallon jugs of water to simulate the arduous, daily journey most people have to endure to get clean drinking water. The Harmon School 6 th grade teachers have created a unique learning experience focusing on engaging their students in understanding and empathizing with others around the world.
